Tetris
Tetris is a game developed by the Russian-American Alexey Pajitnov, while he was working as a research scientist in the Soviet Union.
The name is derived from tetromino, a type of polyomino, that consist of four squares. The name "tetromino" is a combination of "tetra" (which means "four" in Ancient Greek) and "domino".
Tetris is inspired by the pentomino puzzles that Alexey used to play as a child.
